5 No Bake DIY Treats To Keep Your Pup Cool This Summer!

Summer has already given us a peep show into how hot it is going to be this year! There are plenty of options to keep us cool, but a few less options for our dogs. So we must resort to our awesome DIY skills as pet parents. This is a list of my top 5 favorite DIY keeping cool treats!



1.
Pupsicles:
Ingredients
-1 cup of water
-8 strawberries (stems removed)
-1/4 cup of blueberries
 
Option 1
-Blend 1/2 cup of water with each portion of fruit to have two different flavors
-Pour into ice trays
-Freeze and serve
 
Option 2
-Blend water with fruits until well blended
-Pout into ice tray
-Freeze and serve


2.
Doggy Ice Cream:
Ingredients
-3 bananas
-32 ounces of plain yogurt
-1 cup peanut butter
 
Instructions
-Blend bananas, yogurt, and peanut butter until well blended
-Pour into bowl or ice tray for small convenient treats
-Freeze and serve 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
3.
Treatsicles:
Ingredients
-Bucket or large bowls
-Favorite toys
-Water or chicken broth
 
Option 1
-Place favorite toys in half a bucket of water or broth
-Freeze
-Place remaining toys in bucket
-Freeze and serve
 
Option 2
-Place a few toys and liquid in the bowls
-Freeze and serve 1 periodically
 
 
 
4.
Apple Freezers
Ingredients
-3 to 4 apples
- Approx. 1 cup water or
chicken broth
 
Instructions
-Cut apples into slices, then in half
(so they fit into ice tray)
- Fill ice tray 1/2 way with apples
-Fill the rest if the tray with water or chicken broth
-Freeze and serve
 
 
 
5.
PB & Oats
Ingredients
-1 cup unsalted butter
-1 1/4 cup crunch peanut butter
-1/3 cup milk (whole milk works best)
-1/4 cup ground carob
-4 cups of oats (quick or instant oats)
 
Instructions
-Melt butter on medium heat, remove from heat
-Whisk in peanut butter and milk until well mixed
-Stir in carob and oats
-Grease baking pan
-Spread into greased baking pan
-Let cool and cut into squares (or whatever you like)
-Serve!
 
 
 
*If your dog is milk sensitive, goat milk is a good alternative and it can be easier on a dogs stomach
