You won't believe this transformation!

This is Bam Bam. He is a sweet, mid-aged dog. His owner says she brushes him regularily, however she only brushes him with a slicker brush - a bristle brush. Although a slicker brush is good to smooth out the top layers of fur,  the brush does not demat the fur close to the skin. That bottom layer of fur is the main culprit for extreme matting.

Even though you may brush your dog regularly, it is VERY important that you use a METAL TOOTH COMB to get out the mats from the base of the fur. If you fail to do this, your dogs fur can mat up,  getting worse every day. As mats build, your dog can loose blood circulation, get hematomas (build up of blood, can burst and leak lots of blood,  needs veterinary care). And many other health problems.

It is very important to not only brush your dogs,  but comb them as well. If you don't think you can keep up with this time consuming task,  don't be ashamed to just shave your dog down to help them stay comfortable and mat free!
