Cats never cease to amaze us all. When Simon was a kitten, he was taught to sit and stay. However, over the last year and a half he hadn't been asked to sit nor stay. I was watching a video of a cat impressively completing an agility track and that got me thinking, how well is Simons memory? If I ask him to sit and stay will he remember what to do, will he even bother because he knows he will probably get a treat anyways! Well, this is my FIRST attempt! I am one proud crazy cat momma!

I bet you can't keep a straight face while watching this cute cat video!
Don't forget to share with your friends!
Cats are always making us laugh, whether it's purposely knocking over something, or being their clumsy selves, they always are great at making us chuckle!
I was filming my cat Jedi enjoying a good head scratch when he caught me filming him. Once he caught his reflection, he just couldn't get enough! He had to investigate!
I bet you can't keep a straight face while watching this adorable interaction!

Costa Rica shutting down all zoos!!
Costa Rica is officially the first country to close all zoos! Unfortunately, due to contractual issues, two zoos will stay open until the end of their contract, a decade. However, after that they will not obtain another contract and will close. Costa Rica is known to have a very diverse animal kingdom, it is home to 4% of the world's known species.
The animals that cannot be released to the wild will have a cage-free, large environment to flourish in. This is great news for animal lovers everywhere and hopefully the start to a world-wide trend.
Good job Costa Rica!

You Won't Believe What This Amazing Charity Does For The Homeless With Pets
Many people are quick to judge the homeless, especially if they have a dog. The most common thought is "You can't take care of yourself, how are you going to care for a dog?" And so on. However, a charity by the name of My dog eats first, run by the amazing Beth Green, proves the homeless are better owners than some wealthy people.
Beth's charity, My dog eats first, goes around to highly populated homeless areas and provides food, leashes, veterinary care and medicine to their pets. It truly is an amazing act of kindness. This video follows the charity in some of their day to day operations.
If that's not inspiring enough, Prank It Forward is filming the video. Tom Mabe, the man on camera, tells Beth that he is filming a documentary and for her co-operation he will donate $200 to her charity. As the video progresses you can see just how much love the homeless have for their pets and how much of an impact My dog eats first makes.
During the filming one of the homeless men that frequents the charity, Ricky, falls very ill. He had to bring his dog, Buddy, to the shelter because he had to go to the hospital right away. Ricky and Buddy had lived in Ricky's car for a very long time and Ricky was heartbroken when he had to say goodbye to his best friend. Unfortunately, Ricky was told he would only have less than 6 months to live. Beth wanted to make sure he could spend that with his best friend and arranged for Buddy to be back with Ricky.
Tom and Prank It Forward have 2 HUGE surprises at the end for both Ricky & Buddy and Beth & My dog eats first! This video will have you smiling from beginning to end!
Please remember to share and help others learn about the amazing charities in place for the homeless.
& don't forget to pay it forward! ♥

Why I can't be trusted with pet paint
As a groomer, I always wanted to experiment with colour and pet paint. However, due to policies, we could only use one brand of horrible pet spray paint that never turned out right and no one wanted it on their pet for that reason. Since moving to the veterinary field, I haven't really been doing much grooming. Today, I came across a box of Bark Art, Pet Paint, and I just couldn't help myself.
This is why I can't be trusted with pet paint.

10 Of The Most Rare Dog Breeds (No Specific Order)
To celebrate Dogust, I've gathered up some of the rarest dog breeds in the world! These are in no specific order.
Tibetan Mastiff's are huge but noble. They are easily noticeable with a rather impressive double coat. The breed is known to be an amazing guardian dog, however, its independent qualities make it a difficult dog to partake in activities such as obedience training.
Swedish Vallhund's are quite the opposite, they are smaller, and known to be excellent in obedience and agility training. Known for being fearless pets, the breed is popular among active owners.
Otterhound, per the name, are very efficient in the water. The massive dogs have webbed feet and a resistant double coat. They are great hunting dogs for both land and water.
Catahoula Leopard Dogs are one of the most beautiful on the list for sure. They are multi-colored or spotted and are believed to be the first dogs bred in the United States. They are praised by Native Americans for their incredible hunting abilities.
Azawakh's are known to be timid by nature, but are gentle, affectionate, and protective once they warm up to you. Due to their slim muscular build, they are naturally build to be amazing at agility courses. The breed has a variety of colors and marking possibilities.
Mudi's are a Hungarian herding dog and is built to be with an active family. They are known to be excellent hunters and do best as pets in a large environment. They have a beautiful thick, curly coat and an adorable short smooth face.
Carolina Dog, more commonly known as the American Dingo. Its origins are a free roaming, wild dog. Thought to be the oldest species in North America. Still close to its wild ancestors, it does best with lots of room to run and an active family!
New Guinea Singing Dog, is named because of its distinct voice. It has quite a bit in common with the American Dingo. They share physical features, were both once a wild breed, and are both very active dogs. They are now known for amazing companionship due to their intelligence.
Catalburun dogs succumbed to an unfortunate over-inbreeding due to their rarity, which is possibly the reason for their split nose and suspended ears. Originally hunting dogs, are great dogs for athletic owners.
Telomian dogs are the only Malaysian breed known to live elsewhere. Originally bred by the Orang Asli indigenous people to catch vermin. Due to the Orang Asli building homes on stilts to stay away from dangerous animals, the Telomians developed an amazing ability for climbing.
Which breed is your favorite? :)
