Congrats to Miss P! Canadians Rise Again!

Over the past two days, dogs from all across the world came to compete at the 139th Westminster Kennel Club Dog Show. There were two full days packed full of fun, adorable, competition with a canadian coming out on top, of course!

Miss P, at the early age of 4, is the second beagle to win best in show at Westminster! Her call name is short for Peyton, however, her official champion name is Tashtins Lookin' for Trouble. Miss P is the grand-neice of Uno. In 2008, Uno super starred his way to becoming the only beagle to win the nation'smost prestegious dog show, until Miss P conquered this year! She has won 20 best in show's in the U.S.! She has two loving homes, one in Milton - right around the corner from me - and one in Enderby, BC.

Although there is no money reward for best in show at Westminster, Miss P had rightfully earned appearances on TV shows, lunch at Manhattan restaurant Sardi's, a walk-on part in the Broadway musical "Kinky Boots", and the lucky pup will even get a meeting with Donald Trump, maybe he will teach her how to tame her newly found fame!

This years competition was fierce and the final 7 group was one of the best line-ups I have seen in a very long time. It really was one of those competitions where anyone could've won. When Miss P was announced best in show, her handler William Alexander, stated "She never let me down, She didn't make any mistakes." The Skye terrier with a champion name of Cragsmoor Good Time Charlie came in second this year.

A Portuguese water dog named Matisse, who is a cousin of President Barack Obama's family dog Sunny, won top-winning male in show history; he has won 238. The old English sheepdog, Swagger, finished second in 2013 at Westminster, but clearly was the crowds favorite!
